Olawale Maiyegun, PhD is a Public Policy expert, an accomplished retired career Ambassador and international Civil Servant with over four decades experience in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy at the highest level of Heads of States and Governments at the Nigerian Foreign Service, African Union, and United Nations, as well as overseas postings in Europe, North America, Middle East and Africa. As a former Director, Department of Social Affairs (now Humanitarian, Health & Social Development), African Union Commission, Addis Ababa, he has vast experience in development work, humanitarian action in armed conflict, public and global health security and health diplomacy.
He is currently an independent Consultant/ Researcher and Managing Partner at the North-South Consultancy Services LLC.
As a Career Diplomat and a Public Policy expert, he brings knowledge of international governance, strategic planning, and multilateral engagement.
He has published works in reputable journals on health, child rights and migration. He is a strong advocate of women and child rights.
